The Province of Lodi is one of the youngest of Lombardy. It was in fact established in 1992, although its origins date back to at least land two thousand years ago. The Lodi area extends about 780 km ² and is crossed by three rivers well the Po, the Adda river and the river Adda, thanks to which the territory of Lodi is one of the most fertile in Europe.

Historically, the territory of Lodi has seen repeatedly questioned their institutional autonomy. But this alternation of historical events have made the province a place of important historical and cultural interest.
